This Production Manager is a key position in leading the manufacturing team in the production of ordnance and tactical components. This position will be responsible leading the manufacturing team in the implementation of lean manufacturing, 5S, visual factory, developing and implementing standard work practices for all manufacturing activities. Mentoring and coaching the manufacturing technicians in root cause analysis, statistical process control and cost reduction activities will be key responsibilities. The production manager is responsible for staffing, training and capacity planning to meet customer needs for sustaining and new product introduction teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote a positive, safe quality orientated team atmosphere.
Mentor and lead manufacturing team leads in 5S, Visual Factory, SPC understanding and implementation.
Ensure all regulatory codes and compliances are in place and met, including OSHA, ANSI, and emissions.
Establishes policies, practices and procedures and tracking for equipment maintenance, per manufactures recommendations.
Complete employee reviews, hire and terminate employees as required..
Lead and or participate on project teams to design, develop products, equipment including work holders, fixtures or assembly stations and processes for new product builds.
Complete all assignments as assigned.
Leader for continuous improvement teams, lean 6 sigma projects.
Responsible for coordination of personnel including maintenance, test technicians, assemblers and manufacturing engineers for sustaining production activities and new product introductions.
Responsible for facilities management.
Other duties as assigned.
Major Competencies/Skills:
Subject matter expert in 5S, visual factory or SPC, lean sigma.
Competent using office software, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal and communicational skills (oral and written) and the ability to motivate and lead a work force to achieve desired goals.
Strong conviction to continuous improvement.
Schematic and print reading abilities.
Extremely organized and forward looking.
Financial Responsibility and Authority:
Responsible for the daily production operations of the company and all it components.
Maintain and improve process efficiency and quality standards.
Recommending optimal production solutions and equipment needs.
Evaluate employee performance and motivate to achieve peek productivity.
Will be responsible for meeting budgets and timelines for work requirements.
Education and/or Experience
BS Degree
or 5 ? 8 years directly related experience preferably in an electro/mechanical assembly operation
0 ? 2 years relevant and supervisory experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
